The wrong numbers game

Seeing marketing through this lens is playing the spam game. That’s why sales and contacting new people feels manipulative and sleazy. Because it is.

50 → 10 → 5 → 2

Reach the numbers. The more you reach, the more response you’ll have. (Don’t have to be a genius to know that).

Here’s the thing

Marketing is not about how many people/businesses/accounts you can reach. It’s about how you can help and make your clients’ lives better *for them*.

→ How many you can reach: go on a wide range and grab whatever there is. No filter. You feel they can spend, then they’re potential clients.
“If they have a pulse, they can be clients.“

On the other hand, it’s about how many right ones you can help.

→ How many right ones: go on a specific range. On a specific kind of problem. For a specific desired future. Select. Be exclusive.
“Will we enjoy the outcome of working together and will you be delighted, dear client?“

Marketing can be the wrong numbers game.

Or you can make marketing the thing that will keep you in the game.
