I’m A Thought-Leader

Now that the Leadershit part is off my system, we can talk about Thoughts today.
You do produce thoughts —as opposed to… everybody else?

Right…

“I’m A Thought-Leader”

Are you, really?

Calling yourself a “thought leader” (or that you produce thought leadership) is presumptuous and means you have no agency.

Most of the self-proclaimed thought-leaders sound (and feel) like this. (It’s a 4-min inspiring presentation by Pat Kelly)

Just because you write/publish, it doesn’t mean your thinking is leading some people, businesses or industry on any direction.

Maybe it’s more of nothing. More Thought Leadershit.

Undifferentiated, common, vain content that simply knocks on everyone’s inbox to say “Hey! I’m here! Look at me! Look at me!“. Content that falls under the GREAT advice of twitter bros saying “publish, publish, publish and tweet about it”.
Category Pirates call it Content-Free Marketing Industrial Complex.

If it’s all meh, it’s just more fluff., you’re producing thought leadershit.

WTF

The question here is: WTF?

Where’s The Focus of your publishing, time, energy and effort? Where’s the focus of your thinking?

Where’s the focus of your brand? Is it all to make you famous/recognized? Or is it to better serve your community? Is it?? Really? Like, really???

This is a question for you to answer yourself. You’re not alone. 🙂
