Have you ever gotten a cold call and felt fantastic about having that conversation?
Weird, isn’t it?
Today i just got one like that from Strategic Coach.
Even when I knew I was going to say no, there was no pressure on the other side.
No shame.
No sneaky tactics to pull Noes into Yeses.
Even better, no trying to frame me to say yes to get into a buy.
It went like this:
– Hey Rod. I’m X from Strategic Coach and thought I’d call you to go through some things smoother than over an email. I noticed this [behavior] and wondered if you’re still interested in this [product].
– Yeah. It’s interesting, but I won’t buy it for the near future. Not quite there to buy it.
– That’s great to know. Thank you for this. I wonder, what would you need to get there? [the context you’d be ready to get the product.]
– I guess it’ll take me [A], [B] and [C].
– I get it. Would it be ok if i send you a few resources to help you get there? They’re complimentary and hoping they’ll be of good use to you.
– Yes, please..
– Great! Thank you so much for taking the call.
The result?
The quality of the call was impressive.
It delighted me.
It engaged me to recommend anyone who might ask for what’s been my first impressions.
(And i’m also ready to give them more of my time if they ask me to.)
What would you need to get into a sales process like that?
2 main things:
Clarity on who you serve, and
Showing yourself to serve.
The closing question for you is:
How are you delighting your prospects?
