Even if you don’t see yourself as THE expert, or the authority to be listened to in the work you do with your clients, THEY DO.

  • Doing what they need might not be the best way to approach things.
  • Doing what you want might not be either.
  • Doing what they tell you is for sure a recipe for dissatisfaction.

Here’s why

While they’re experts in their business and at what they do, they’re not (in 99,9999% of cases) experts at what you do.

  • If you don’t get to ask the right questions.
  • If you only follow what they say (not what they actually want)
  • If you don’t challenge their beliefs…

in reality, you’re probably helping them get flawless at doing the wrong thing.

You’re allowed to tell them to slow down and figure out the right thing.

You’re there to help them with the root cause, not only with the symptoms. That’ll be more sustainable for them.

And while at first they might have some resistance —who loves change, anyways?—, they’ll get it when you start showing them the first quick wins (as a sign of progress).

When you lead, you show your expertise.

You’re the expert. You’re the prize.
